Kelly and Watson Consulting was founded by James Kelly and Kevin Watson in 2005 with the commitment to helping the residents of Santa Cruz County and the San Francisco Bay area with their computer needs.
James Kelly and Kevin Watson share a love of computers and the world of high technology. Kevin's first exposure to in computers came in 1981 when his parents got a TRS-80 for Kevin and his older brother Sean. Kevin's skill progressed quickly, and by the 6th grade he had written a grading program for his middle school teacher on an Apple II. Among James' earliest recollections are the stacks of computer punch cards his mother carted around while studying computer science at Chico state. By Junior High James had taken a class in basic and written his first programs.
Despite their early coding experience however, James and Kevin did not become software engineers. Their interested tended to focus on application rather that development, and over the years they have held jobs in Desktop Support, System Administration, Premium Support, Quality Assurance, Enterprise Solutions, and Lab Management to name a few.
Between the two, James and Kevin have at one time or another designed, installed, configured and maintained:
Networks: physical copper and fiber networks and secure wireless networks including routers, switches, hubs, CSU/DSU, modems, firewalls, VPNs.
Computers: TRS-80, C64, Apple IIe, Tandem Mini, Macintosh classic-G5, 8088, Intel 8086-Pentium4, AMD K6-Opteron, Sparc classic-UltraSparc IV, RS6000, PA-RISC, Itaniaum (like the titanic... glub, blub, gurgle), Alpha, SGI Origin2000...
